It was a Tuesday afternoon at the college where I was working in ICT, when an email came through to the help-desk saying that the projector had made a “bang” noise and was no longer working.
After searching every spare cupboard, it became apparent that the last projector bulb had been used and no one had bothered to order anymore – a common problem in busy working environments. After two weeks of apologising to some very angry teachers, the new order of bulbs finally arrived, and we were able to resolve the problem.
A common scenario in workplaces that rely heavily on projectors – universities, schools, conference centers, museums – I thought there must be some way we can automate this process, so busy staff aren’t burdened with the task and productivity can be streamlined. That’s how ColourFi started.
